C.A. Lootens is an author who writes strange fiction for hungry hearts and minds. She’s also public health specialist and an editor-in-training through UC Berkeley. When her editorial services are up and running, she will help turn your writing project into its best version for the intended audience (more details to come).
The Gridshadowers, a visionary/sci-fi with romantic elements, is her first novel, and is now published by Melange Books, Inc. (see below for details). In addition to this novel, she’s published her book of poetry, Sloppy Mortal Soup, which is now print-on-demand through Lulu. In the past, she’s also had various magazine and newspaper publications, and has completed a second novel, Why Dogs don’t Stargaze, a children’s book, and a memoir.
Her interests, which span the universe, include back-country camping, yoga (teaching and practicing), cats, historic cemeteries, quantum physics (abridged, for the right-brain heavy), and parentheticals (clearly). Lootens has a background in health science and psychology, holds a master degree in public health (MPH), and is a certified as a Community Health Education Specialist (CHES-NCHEC).
Currently, she’s fleshing out a literary fantasy novel called, The Dream Dabbler. While growing up in the Midwest, and traveling out west, the Rocky Mountains had put quite a spell on her. As a result, she has called beautiful Colorado her home since 2015.
